SKS Tower
Terrace
An elevated urban plaza incorporating landscape and nature. At 72 feet above Mohakhali, the Level 7 terrace of SKS Tower is transformed into a green envelope suspended over one of Dhaka's densest commercial corridors: noise buffer, heat sink, shadow play, and civic gathering space simultaneously.
The programme layers public and semi-private at a single level. A central glass pavilion houses the indoor restaurant, surrounded by a reflecting pool. Beyond it, a timber pergola shades the semi-open dining terrace. At the far end, an open viewing deck and stage face the city panorama. A green envelope of bamboo screens and planted edges absorbs noise, moderates thermal load, and creates the texture of shadows on the plaza floor.
Design spirit: contextual landscape — green, water body, sunlight, wind flow, and the variation of level and shading that gives the terrace its spatial rhythm.
